Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

  • Candidates must have passed the Matriculation (10th class) examination under the 10+2 system with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board.
  • An ITI certificate in the relevant trade issued by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) or State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT) is mandatory.

Age Limit (as of January 1, 2025):

  • Minimum Age: 15 years
  • Maximum Age: 24 years

Age Relaxation:

  • OBC Candidates: 3 years
  • SC/ST Candidates: 5 years
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 10 years (additional relaxation applicable for OBC/SC/ST PwBD candidates)

Application Fee

  • General/OBC/EWS Candidates: ₹100
  • SC/ST/PwBD/Female Candidates: Exempted

The application fee is non-refundable and must be paid online during the application process.

Selection Process

The selection process is based on a merit list prepared by averaging the percentage marks obtained in both Matriculation and ITI examinations, giving equal weightage to both. In case of a tie, the following criteria will be applied in order:

  1. Older candidate by age will be given preference.
  2. If the age is also the same, the candidate who passed the Matriculation examination earlier will be considered.

Shortlisted candidates will undergo document verification and a medical examination to ensure they meet the medical fitness standards prescribed by the Railways.

    • Navigate to the “Apprentice Recruitment 2025” section and click on “New Registration.”
    • Fill in the required personal details, including a valid email ID and mobile number.
  2. Application Form:
    • Log in using the registration credentials.
    • Complete the application form by providing educational qualifications and trade preferences.
    • Upload scanned copies of the following documents:
      • Recent passport-sized photograph (3.5 cm x 3.5 cm, JPG/JPEG format, 20-50 KB)
      • Signature (JPG/JPEG format, 10-40 KB)
      • Left-hand thumb impression (JPG/JPEG format, 10-40 KB)
      • Relevant educational and ITI certificates (PDF format, 100-300 KB)
  3. Fee Payment:
    • Pay the application fee online through Credit/Debit Card, Net Banking, or E-Wallets.
  4. Submission:
    • Review all entered information carefully.
    • Submit the application form and take a printout for future reference.
