Selection Process
The selection process comprises the following stages:
- Shortlisting of Applications: Candidates will be shortlisted based on normalized marks obtained in the qualifying degree. For BE/B.Tech candidates, marks up to the fifth semester will be considered; for other degrees, all semester marks will be taken into account.
- SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be informed via email or SMS about their selection for the SSB interview, which spans five days and includes:
- Stage I: Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) Test, Picture Perception and Description Test (PPDT), Story Narration, and Discussion.
- Stage II: Psychological Tests, Group Testing Officer (GTO) Tasks, Personal Interview, and Conference.
- Medical Examination: Candidates recommended by the SSB will undergo a medical examination to assess their fitness as per Indian Navy standards.
- Final Merit List: A merit list will be prepared based on SSB marks, subject to medical fitness and availability of vacancies.
Training and Tenure
Selected candidates will undergo training at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala, commencing in June 2026. Upon successful completion, they will be commissioned as Sub Lieutenants. The initial tenure for SSC Officers is 10 years, extendable by up to 4 years based on service requirements, performance, and willingness of the candidate.
